About AvoNet Search

AvoNet Search is a private, non-tracking meta search engine operated as part of the AvoNet network and powered by SearXNG.

Its purpose is simple: provide access to information without monitoring, profiling, or recording users. AvoNet Search does not track searches, store histories, create behavioral profiles, or share query data with third parties. Searches are not logged, monetized, or analyzed for advertising or surveillance.

Results are aggregated from multiple public search engines and presented without bias, manipulation, or personalization based on user identity.

Why use AvoNet Search?

AvoNet Search is designed for users who want search results without surveillance and prefer control over convenience-based personalization.

Setting AvoNet Search as your default search engine

AvoNet Search supports the OpenSearch standard, allowing it to be added to most modern browsers as a custom search engine.

Refer to your browser documentation for instructions:

When adding a search engine, browsers do not allow duplicate names. If you encounter an error, remove any existing entry with the same name or rename the new entry accordingly.

How AvoNet Search works

AvoNet Search is built on SearXNG, an open-source metasearch engine inspired by the original searx project and the Seeks project.

Search requests are forwarded to multiple external search providers on your behalf, then combined and returned without revealing your identity. No persistent data is retained, and no individual user activity is stored.

The stats page provides transparent, anonymous information about overall system usage and engine activity. These statistics do not identify users and do not record individual searches.

Running your own instance

AvoNet Search is built entirely on free and open-source software. Anyone may inspect the code, modify it, or operate a private instance.

If you prefer full control, you can obtain the source code from the SearXNG sources and run an instance on your own infrastructure.

You may also add your instance to the public list of instances to help decentralize search and promote a more private internet.
